WHAT? Alcoholism, automobile wrecks, violence, health risks. We can’t ignore these harmful effects, but historically, we as a species have benefitted a great deal from the use and even the excessive use of a psychoactive substance such as alcohol. How did we come to be the Alpha predator? Did we form civilizations to farm for bread or beer? How have we accomplished all the advances of civilization? The jury is still out but the argument/idea that alcohol has had some benefits for mankind is an interesting and justifiable point of view.
