Description
This course will focus on the canoe and the role it played in travel in the 17th century New World. Based upon primary written accounts from the Ste. Marie mission among the Iroquois at Onondaga Lake, the presentation will include how canoes were used in transport, canoe etiquette, and written accounts of episodes related to canoe travel.
