To begin a meditation practice, one needs only a few moments, a quiet place to be, and one’s breath. Learning to meditate is as easy as learning to focus on breathing. Gradually it can become an easy and natural process to allow the mind to let go of the stress and focus of the daily routine and move into an inner sense of peace and calmness.

When our mind is peaceful, we are free from worries and mental discomfort, and experience true happiness. If we train our mind to become peaceful, we shall be happy even in adverse conditions, but if our mind is not at peace, then even in the most pleasant conditions we are unable to feel happy. So it is important to train our minds, through techniques such as simple meditation, to be aware of the joys and true happiness that is our birthright.
