Description

Alaska is a pristine land of 663,268 square miles with a wide diversity of unique landscapes and animals. Len has visited Alaska on a research venture with the University of Alaska studying the tundra and permafrost as well as explored and driven the perimeter of Alaska and cruised along the Inner Passage. Len will share some of his experiences at Denali National Park, Glacier Bay National Park, Kenai Fjords National Park, Point Barrow, the Mendenhall Glacier, and the Dalton Highway. He’ll also share his knowledge of the 1964 Good Friday Earthquake/Tsunami, Valdez, trans-Alaska pipeline, and the Pribilof Islands. Animals would include the Arctic fox, moose, musk ox, salmon, elk, spider crabs, polar bears, and grizzlies. This is a exciting lecture for the avid traveler, hiker, or an individual just curious about Alaska.
