Description
This course will examine the ancient Egyptian cultural practices and religious beliefs associated with the afterlife. Topics covered will include: mummification, tomb construction and decoration, use and meaning of burial goods, and the cult of the dead. The instructor’s expertise in working with mummies and coffins, along with his past experimental research and knowledge of cutting-edge technologies, will form a provocative cultural narrative of Egypt.
