Description
Colors can elicit different emotional responses and moods, and have become powerful symbols in diverse cultures, arts, literature, and narratives. This course encompasses three interactive workshops that provide stimulating and creative activities to promote well-being. Through guided discussions, participants will learn about the connections between emotion and color across different creative arts modalities (creative writing, visual art, and music) and will use their new thinking to engage in an interactive experience or project related to the featured art form of the day. A short movement break bridging the learning and art-making portions will be incorporated. Through new learning and stimulating creative activities, participants have the opportunity to express themselves and enhance their well-being. The topics we’ll explore are:
- The Interpretation of Colors and Emotions Through Poetry;
- Connections Between Music, Color, and Emotions;
- Emotions and Color in the Visual Arts: Create Your Own Soak Stain Painting.
