Description

Did you know that engaging in poetry (reading, listening, and writing) not only supports our emotional health but also enhances cognitive functions? Found poetry is a specific form that uses existing texts, then changes them to create a new poem. Through guided discussions and poetry reading, participants will learn about cut-up poetry, a sub-type where one cuts words out of different sources and rearranges them to create new meaning. Participants will first create a group cut-up poem, then receive guidance to create their own cut-up poems. This playful poetic process does not require any prior creative writing experience or knowledge of poetry.
