Description

Explore an art form that combines visual collage with the power of written words, resulting in a unique and personalized piece. You will learn about cut-up/collage poetry through guided discussions and looking at examples from current and past poets. You’ll then be guided through the process of creating your own cut-up poems, which will entail cutting words and pictures out of different sources and rearranging them to create new meaning. This is a playful form of poetry that does not require any prior creative writing or art experience. Magazines and paper will be provided but participants are welcome to bring their own magazines, newspapers, and decorative paper. Engaging in poetry and art not only supports our emotional health but also enhances cognitive functions!
