Description
Love music? Join us for this fun, interactive series about how music works—no experience needed. Led by finalists for The Syracuse Orchestra’s next Music Director, each session will focus on a unique musical theme – from fairy tales and folk tunes to jazz influences and the sounds of freedom. You’ll learn basic music concepts while discovering cool connections between music and storytelling. Get a behind-the-scenes peek too at upcoming concerts from people who developed the programs and will be conducting!
What do Mozart and Hansel & Gretel have in common? Find out when our guest speaker connects the dots for you while explaining music concepts like rhythm, melody, and harmony. The discussion will peel back the layers of classical music to show how musical elements help tell stories. Join us for the perfect prelude to the “Hansel & Gretel” concert program, which Mulligan will conduct on November 22 & 23.
