Description

What makes music sound joyful and how does it express the wit of the composer? Volume, tempo, and so much more! We’ll explore how a living composer used an unfinished fragment by Mozart as a point of departure. We’ll also discuss Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 and Stravinsky’s, Dumbarton Oaks, which was heavily inspired by Bach’s Brandenburg series. The interactive session is led by Jacob Joyce, one of The Syracuse Orchestra’s Music Director candidates. It’s a preview of the “Orchestra Spotlight” concert, which Joyce conducts on January 31 & February 1.
