In celebration of Women’s History Month, this lecture spotlights five women who became true warriors. We will learn about women who have affected major events in their time periods—from ancient days to modern times. In major civilizations both ancient and modern, the lives of women were generally restricted to more traditional roles, yet there were some who broke with tradition, both at home and on the battlefield. These fierce female warriors not only had to face their enemies, but also the strict gender roles of their day. Some of these women are well known and others may surprise you.
