Description
This course will focus on the local history faith journey experience of the 17th century French Jesuit missionaries of the Ste. Marie among the Iroquois at Onondaga Lake. Based upon primary written accounts (Relations) of the missionaries. we will explore the interface between the Old World European Christianity and New World Native American spirituality. The presentation will introduce the strategies, challenges, and experiences of the missionaries in their evangelistic and political ambassadorship among the Native American people.
