Tet brought down the Johnson administration, opening the way for Nixon’s election in 1968. “Peace with Honor” would prove just as elusive as winning the war. In Vietnam, the war continued unabated. Ho Chi Minh died in 1969 but the new leadership continued the struggle. Peace talks were frustrating and the anti-war movement at home continued to grow.
