Description
This class will provide an overview and examination of the historical factors that shaped and informed the writing of the Declaration of Independence. The contents of the document will be explored to reveal the political and social motivation of Thomas Jefferson and others who helped him to edit the final document. This course will draw heavily from the book American Scripture by Pauline Maier, but participants are not required to read the book.
