Description
Join us for a day in historic Auburn! Starting at the Harriet Tubman Home, we’ll take a 90 minute guided tour of the property. This historic site is charged with sharing Harriet’s core values. Tubman was guided by a deep faith and devotion to family, freedom, and community. After emancipating herself and members of her family, she moved them from Ontario, Canada to Fleming and Auburn, New York in 1859. Central New York was a center for progressive thought, abolition, and women’s suffrage where Tubman continued to fight for human rights and dignity until she died in 1913.
After our tour we’ll head to Prison City Brewery for lunch on your own. P.C.B opened in 2014, and is located inside a Civil War Armory building. After lunch, we’ll tour the Seward House Museum, the historic home of William Henry Seward and his family. Serving as a New York State Senator, Governor of New York, a U.S. Senator, and as Secretary of State in the Lincoln and Johnson administrations, Seward was one of the foremost politicians of nineteenth century America.
Note: registrations are closed as we need to give our final numbers a week ahead of the tours.
