Description

New York Times columnist David Brooks has written politically astute books, but How to Know a Person: The Art of Seeing Others Deeply and Being Deeply Seen is more of a psychological “how to” that makes dialogue in our fractured society more possible. This course will review this book and provide some opportunities to illustrate and practice some of the skills involved to help us strengthen our relationships and deal with others with whom we may disagree. It will also reference concepts from “Crucial Conversations: Tools for Talking When Stakes Are High” by Kerry Patterson. It is not necessary to purchase the books, but there are paperbacks now available as well as library copies.
