Description

Supported by the Foreign Policy Association for over 50 years, “Great Decisions” is America’s largest discussion program on world affairs. The program highlights eight critical foreign policy challenges facing Americans each year. In discussion groups across the country, participants discuss and debate each issue and complete a national opinion ballot to communicate their views to Congress and the White House. Each session will focus on one topic from the book, which must be read beforehand to ensure successful class participation. Topics this year include: Energy Geopolitics, War Crimes, China and the U.S., Economic Warfare, Politics in Latin America, Global Famine, Iran at a Crossroads, and Climate Migration. Registration includes use of a copy of the Great Decisions Briefing Book. Pickup from Oasis will need to be arranged. (Group participants will be from Washington Metro, Syracuse and OE.)

Note: This class meets on 2/9, 2/23, 3/9, 3/23, 4/6, 4/20, 5/4 & 5/18.
